August 29th, 2009

This month, we’re featuring the Jack Webb Jazz Band, from Flagstaff, Arizona, in a slightly different configuration from the one we showcased in our program of August, 2007.

This time around, the band is in a somewhat more mainstream quintet format.  The musicians are Prof. Guy Senese (soprano sax and cornet), John Kafalas (trombone), Jack Frost (guitar), Lisa Frost (bass), and Dan (drums, whose last name I’ve forgotten — sorry!).  The selections are “Some of These Days,” “Tin Roof Blues,” and “San.”

The music was recorded on December 17, 2003 at Charly’s, in the Weatherford Hotel, a historic landmark in Flagstaff.
